Walk for Aidan begins it's 4th year
2010 marks the Walk's fourth year. This year the Walk will feature music from a variety of bands, from the Po'okela Street Band to Static Radio to Fall-By. We will also have a live reptile show and sports celebrities to hang out with, including Kelly Jennings from the Seahawks and Fredy Montero from the Sounders.
The Walk is nothing short of amazing!
So far the Walk is the largest student-run fundraiser in the state, having raised over $100,000 in three years. The money raised goes to the Aidan Leffler Trust Fund and is used to support the Leffler's in their fight against Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. This includes wheelchair-enabling their house and car, visits to Cincinnati to see a specialist on Duchenne, and experimental medications. These medicines have shown promising results in slowing the atrophying of Aidan's muscles; unfortunately, because of the experimental nature of the treatments, insurance won't cover their yearly cost of $10,000. With the help of the community, the Walk for Aidan is able to pay for these and other treatments and provide hope for the Leffler family. A large portion of the Aidan Leffler Trust Fund is also donated to Charley's Fund, a nonprofit organization dedicated to finding a cure for DMD, saving countless lives.
Help save a life.
Strengthen the community.

More than just a one day fundraiser, the Walk for Aidan has begun to symbolize and embody the type of compassionate, empathetic community we pride ourselves on. The Walk isn't about money. It is about the best Bellevue can be. It is about uniting together against insurmountable odds. It is about a family. It is about saving the life of a boy-and many boys like him.
